Aaron Powers is a local Colorado writer who focuses on science fiction and fantasy, as well as comic book stories. His first novel, Children of Light, was published in 2014. He has published two comic book stories, Timewalker (Front Range Tales Vol 1, 2018) and Barren Fragments (2021). He has also published a short story in Dan Fowler G-Man Vol. 3 (2021) for Airship 27. Aaron lives in Loveland, CO.
Years ago, Abrahm Akin (under the name Kill-Or), fought with Keldor against the tyranny of King Randor. At the battle of Grayskull, Keldor was horribly disfigured, and Abe was exiled to a forgotten dimension. As the years of his exile pass, Abe works tirelessly to harness the powers of transdimensional magic so that he can return to Eternia to avenge his fallen commander. However, harnessing the powers of transdimensional magic is a long and tedious process so he bides his time by writing and illustrating comic books.
Jesse Bonifazi (Blind Dog Creations) teaches cartooning locally and produces a yearly anthology with his students called Blind Dog Tails. He also makes custom one-of-a-kind action figures for adults and children alike on commission.

Connor McQueen (8-Bit Bounty) is a local Artist and YouTuber. He sells his works right here at gryphon! he will be attending Free Comic Book Day on May 6th selling Art prints, Pin Buttons, and Mystery boxes!
Crystal McDowell is a locally based artist who loves nature, fantasy, and whimsy and seeks to combine these elements in my work. She has always been influenced by anime, video game art, and fantasy art and strives to take that inspiration and showcase it in her own original art. While she primarily illustrates for prints, she also does comics and art books that showcase her unique voice and style. She has also been branching into wearable art such as pins and earrings, which she handcrafts herself without outside manufacturing.
Joseph Arnold has worked over twelve years creating freelance illustration including comics, concept art, and commissioned art. Joseph worked at Disney Kerpoof, and he has published work with a variety of independent and government clients.
Far Away Creations is a Colorado-based practical effects company, going back to 1999. Some of their accomplishments include fabricating props and costumes for film productions including "Rogue One", "The Mandalorian, "The Lone Ranger", "Paul", and "Fanboys" as well as theme parks and independent productions. Their full scale R2-D2 will be at Gryphon Games and Comics this Saturday for Free Comic Book Day!
Laurissa Hughes grew up in Colorado and has been drawing since she was knee-high to a grasshopper. A love of storytelling became a passion for Storyboarding and Comics, and she received a degree in Animation. She currently works as a freelance artist in Colorado, doing storyboards, comics, illustration, and animation. Laurissa also enjoys snowboarding, playing the clarinet, learning foreign languages, and watching lots of British television.
Lee Oaks is a comic book illustrator who has been published in multiple countries. His works include Halo, Escape from Terra, La Compagnie des Glaces, Black Ice, Tales of Tralodren, Night of the Vegan, Deadly Skies, and his own creation Thunder Monkey. He is currently working on Elflord written by Cullen Bunn.
Ron Fortier is a playwright, novelist and comic creator. He has been writing professionally for almost fifty years. With over six hundred published comics, he has written comics featuring well-known characters such as Peter Pan, Popeye, Gene Roddenberry’s Lost Universe, and Rambo. He is best known for his work on the Green Hornet comic series for Now Comics and writing Alex Ross’ first comic project, Terminator : Burning Earth for the same company.
Fifteen years ago, he co-founded Airship 27 Productions with artist Rob Davis. The company produces brand new novels and anthologies featuring classic pulp heroes from the 1930s, to include Ron’s revival of Captain Hazzard; Champion of Justice…and his original creation Brother Bones – The Undead Avenger!
The Coalition of Ghostbusters of Northern Colorado and Southern Wyoming is a faction of the Ghostbusters community with The Fort Collins Ghostbusters, High Plains Ghostbusters, Loveland Ghostbusters and 301 Cheyenne Ghostbusters as the core groups of the organization. These fan groups are dedicated to spreading goodwill and positivity to the community. They volunteer their time to help out with community and charitable events. Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Thomas Webster is an illustrator and graphic designer for hire. He has worked for independent comic publishers, television and print ads for Big O Tires, and designed Arcky, the mascot for ARC Thrift Stores. Commission Thomas to draw your favorite characters on Free Comic Book Day this May 6th!
When your first word is “Batman”, it’s either a sign you should be working in comics or become a super hero. Having no super powers or wealth to afford crime-fighting gadgets, Todd Jones decided to be a comic writer instead. He has worked on Pandemonium Spotlight for Twilight Star Studios, All-Star Pulp for Airship 27/ Redbud Studios, as well as Wicked Awesome Tales, STAKES, and Classic Monsters as Sharks for Wicked Awesome Comics.
Seselis is a writer, artist, and general creative. His comic series, Beyond the Wall, is a gothic horror in which you sit at the bar listening to an old man tell you how the world ended, while his other current work is more satirical and humorous. He enjoys writing songs and drawing addendums to his written work — even though he doesn't draw his comics himself, preferring the collaborative aspect.
Lee Billiot is freelance illustrator, character designer, and graphic designer local to the area. They enjoy experimenting with multiple mediums of art such as needle felting and print-making. (You may see some of us wearing their art on our shirts at the store occasionally!)
Zane and Olivia DeGaine are graduates of the Kubert School where they studied under comics legends Joe, Adam, and Andy Kubert among other great talent in the comics and animation industries. Together, they run DeGaine Designs, providing commercial art services, and Pulp Fission Publishing where they self-publish their creator-owned comics such as “Fastback” and “The Wooden Blade” (written and co-created by Ron Fortier). Their work has been published in magazines, on television, and on billboards in Times Square.
